VIZIO VMB0707 - Inch Edge Lit Razor LED LCD Portable TV Review

This Vizio 7" TV has a fabulous picture, is easy to set up, is big enough for the big game, but small enough for sneaking it into work without attracting too much attention. It comes with an adapter cable for hooking it to cable TV or an outside antenna, AC adapter, slip case, full feature remote, and a cable to allow hook up to an external video source like a DVD player. Two faults, however. One - forget about watching broadcast TV while in a moving vehicle (that one is the fault of the new Digital TV broadcasting standards, not the fault of the Vizio). Two, the audio leaves room for improvement. No doubt, compromises must be made to shove so much TV into such a small package, and connecting a cheap pair of multimedia speakers will make the audio A-1. Also, I wish the slip case had pouches for the remote control and the power adapter, but the positives of this unit make my complaints seem petty. In a word, you'll love this little set Click here to Read more...

Hannspree ST289 MUB LCD HDTV

Hannspree ST289 MUB

Hannspree ST289 MUB Review # 1

I am sorry, but every time i would read a review that people have written about this Hannspree ST289 MUB giving it a rating less than 5 stars i say to myself, "What an idiot." Not because i thought differently about the tv (i didn't even own it yet), it was because after my research of the Hannspree website i found the tv has a very good aspect ratio control feature. I thought all the people were idiots because they rated this product lower than 5 stars because they were too dumb to change their aspect ratio. I was right, in fact this tv has a setting called "wide" meaning wide screen and so a 16:9 aspect ratio. I bought the tv and really hate everyone who is willing to call themselves a technophile or is even reviewing product with what seems very little experience dealing with the product. This tv has 16:10 so people can more easily view the screen like a computer's when a computer is hooked up. Hannspree is just trying to make themselves known and offer a very affordable excellent quality tv. Hannspree even makes their own lcd panels. None of the big manufacturers do that (Sony, LG...). Hannspree even gives you an HDMI. Now you may be thinking, "it is probably a cheap, slow, one foot long HDMI cable". No... this is a six foot long HIGH SPEED HDMI that if i could review seperately i would award it a 5/5 also. I'm a real person just like you. I don't work for Hannspree and don't plan to. I am a sixteen year-old technophile writing this review on my mom's account.

Hannspree ST289 MUB Review # 2

My rating is relative to other TV's & Monitor's I've owned. This Hannspree ST289 MUB is the biggest screen I've ever had. The picture is excellent, the setup was very easy, and it is very nice looking. It was shipped promptly, and arrived with all parts as advertized by TigerDirect (purchased through Amazon). There were no dead pixels, etc.

We use Hannspree ST289 MUB primarily as a TV...hooked to Comcast Cable. We have watched DVD movies on it (no BluRay), watched a slideshow of our new grandson via USB Thumbdrive, streamed a movie from netflix (via Nintendo Wii), and used it as a PC Monitor. It has worked flawlessly, and looked sharp in every instance.

I am NOT a highly qualified reviewer...i.e. little experience with HDTV's, etc. Having said that, I am a very technically oriented person (USMC electronics, Network Administrator, Major Telecom provider technician) and can say without equivocation that I would buy another of these in a heartbeat. I very well may become a fanatic for Hannspree. ;-)

Sony BRAVIA KDL55NX810 55-Inch 1080p 240 Hz 3D-Ready LED HDTV

Designed to deliver dazzling Full HD 1080p resolution, this Sony BRAVIA KDL55NX810 55-Inch 1080p LED HDTV features advanced dynamic LED backlighting technology for incredibly high contrast levels, deep blacks and bright whites. And get ready for a three-dimensional revolution in your living room with the NX810's 3D capabilities. Just add the optional Sony sync transmitter and active glasses to experience movies and video games in 3D like never before Full HD 1080p, or convert 2D to 3D with a push of a button on your remote.

All 3D BRAVIA TVs are supported by a rapidly increasing variety of 3D content, including the latest Hollywood movies on Blu-ray 3D disc; sport, music, natural history and entertainment from new 3D cable and satellite channels; even 3D games such as WipEout HD and MotorStorm Pacific Rift for the PlayStation3.

Enjoy incredible contrast and sharp, vibrant images with the Dynamic Edge LED backlight plus see smooth motion detail during fast-action scenes with the Motionflow PRO 240Hz technology. Edge LED-backlit HDTVs are also more environmentally friendly as they consume less power than conventional LCD televisions and contain no mercury. Additionally, the BRAVIA Engine 3 video processor produces superior, life-like image with amazing contrast and color.

Experience an innovative, monolithic design via the OptiContrast panel. As you watch, the on-screen images appear to float on top of the glass. Turn the set off, and the picture seemingly fades away. To ensure nothing distracts your viewing experience, the OptiContrast panel also improves picture accuracy while reducing glare and reflection.

This
Sony BRAVIA KDL55NX810 55-Inch 1080p LED HDTV also offers integrated Wireless-N Wi-Fi networking, enabling you to connect to a wide range of streaming video sites--including Netflix and Crackle--as well as widgets to get headline news and updates from Facebook and Twitter. You can also stream content directly from your compatible PC to this DLNA Certified HDTV. Other features include 5 HD inputs (4 HDMI, 1 component), a USB port for photo, music, and video playback on the TV, an Ethernet port (for wired networking), and VESA compliant wall mounts.

Sony BRAVIA KDL55NX810 55-Inch 1080p 240 Hz 3D-Ready LED HDTV Review

Just received this new
Sony BRAVIA KDL55NX810 55-Inch 1080p LED HDTV and it is everything Sony claims it to be. Absolutely the best picture I have seen in a LCD TV and better than my 3 yr old 46XBR4 that had the fluorescent backlighting. This NX has a dynamic(local dimming) edge lit LED, and the contrast and blacks are excellent. The 3D is stunning with little ghosting, even with 3D set for max effect. I coupled this NX810 with Sony's new Blu-RAy S770, and the picture is stunning, as good or better than any theater, and better than my previous LCD TV combo. I have noticed that the NX810 could be brighter. I find myself using the 'vivid" picture setting during the day as the TV display was darker than desired when using standard or custom and lacked bright colors. As such, I can not use the cinema scene setting or theater mode during daylight and some DVDs with lots of 'dark scenes' do not show well with simulated 3D during daylight periods

My one complaint is that the sound is not what you would expect from a $3K new Sony. The sound is a cheap sound(tinny),and did not meet by expectations since it has 3 speakers built-in. I ended up adding on the $359 NX810 optional stand (Bushin)(SU-B550S) that includes a better 2.1 sound system to compensate. This one option proved to be worth every penny as the audio is now full and deep.

I am still playing with the video settings, but I have noticed that imperfections of the incoming signal are much easier to discern than my previous LCD. In fact on the same broadcast, a bad shimmer in the background, will go away and a brilliant fine detail picture comes on when they shift cameras like in a news broadcast

This NX has wired Ethernet and wireless connectivity, and the streamed HD video from Amazon is excellent. In order for you to stream Dolby 5.1 audio, you must select 'audio system' on speakers to output 5.1 to your surround sound amp or you will only get PCM. The NX has LED edge lighting but with local dimming and it results is great contrast. Not sure if the HX909 full LED array backlighting would result in a much better picture.

I also am very happy with the 3D effects. Playing a movie made for 3D, gives you great 3D depth effect, almost as good as the theater. Using simulated 3D on my Avatar Blu-Ray disk resulted in good 3D but the depth was not as good as the movie theater. Trying simulated 3D on sports also added depth to many scenes, especially the football if the camera angle was right.

You can buy this TV with a free bundle (various vendors offer the free bundle) that includes everything you need for 3D (transmitter + 2 glasses), plus the bundle gives you a 3D Alice + HDMI cable. So, with the bundle you get everything the LX900 has AND with better picture since the LX is only edge LED with no local dimming.

Overall very happy with this purchase. My only complaint is the "tinny" sound-probably because the speakers are on the backside of the TV and directed either backwards or down as compared to my old XBR4 which had great audio quality and had speakers on either side

Sony BRAVIA KDL46HX800 46-Inch 1080p 240 Hz 3D-Ready LED HDTV Review

First of i took a risk on buying
Sony BRAVIA KDL46HX800 46-Inch 1080p LED HDTV because the bundle was so good an offer from Sony. Though like many i bought a sony bravia 40' 2 years ago, i always wanted to get a big screen to change the 42" westington house i had from 4 years ago. My finance and i went to sony style store just to check it out and it only took us 5 minutes to decide to get one after watching a few things on the screen in 3D. My finance was complaining about my Gizmo habits so i promised her i'm not buying anything but instead she wanted it more than i did.

Now about the this
Sony BRAVIA KDL46HX800 46-Inch 1080p LED HDTV.WOW the picture quality will blow your mind. Watching 3D with my Comcast HD Box by turn on 3D was more than i expected. Tried a regular blu-ray with 3D and i was like WOW. Played the free games that came with the purchase on PS3, it takes gaming to another level. The only little problem i noticed is when you turn on the 3D it takes about 10 seconds for your eyes to get adjusted to the 3D. I heard a lot about getting headaches and feeling of throwing up but nothing of that sort happen to me nor my finance who wears glasses. I know there is a hugh hole in my pocket now but its worth every line of thread it took out. If you had the money, id recommend you get on, if not then wait for the price to come down and you won't regret it.

Sony BRAVIA KDL55HX800 55-Inch 1080p 240 Hz 3D-Ready LED HDTV Review

In a world of so many options for LED LCD TV's, I can say that this is an excellent choice. I sold my Pioneer Elite plasma due to the flicker, and was looking for a CCFL backlit LCD, but was not impressed with the selection this year (wanted CCFL backlit as I own a Samsung 46B750 LCD from 2009, and the picture is spectacular). You will often see reviews of edge lit LED's state issues with clouding or flashlighting and uneven backlighting. The HX800 has a very uniform backlight with no issues seen with other manufacturers. I would recommend, however, to purchase the panel from somewhere like Amazon with a liberal return policy because you don't want to get stuck with a panel that does have issues. For the price, this is an excellent panel with accurate colors, very good black levels and shadow detail, and excellent motion handling. Before buying this panel I had bought the LG 55LX9500 full array LED local dimming set and was disappointed with the banding and uneven backlighting. Overall, the HX800 is a great panel.

Great TV on Panasonic TC-P50GT25 50-Inch 1080p Full HD TV

Disclaimer: First I'd like to say that I do not have the equipment to view this set's 3-D picture yet. I bought Panasonic TC-P50GT25 50-Inch 1080p Full HD TV as a hedge against 3-D. I'm not sure if 3-D is going to take of, but if it does I know I'm ready for it. I thought I would get that out of the way so you will know I cannot review that feature of the TV. Now on with the show...

The Panasonic comes shipped in a conveniently designed box where you simply punch out four inserts and lift the box top off of the base. Sort of like when you get a cake from the bakery in a plastic container. Inside's the Panasonic TC-P50GT25 50-Inch 1080p Full HD TV, the stand, the remote (and batteries), the power cord, and the owner's manual. Attaching the swiveling base is very simple and involves screwing a metal fork onto the base then slipping the TV onto the fork and screwing it down. The whole process takes 5 minutes and I was able to do it without any assistance. Also, I'd like to mention that Amazon shipped the TV through a company called HomeDirectUSA. They were very professional and opened the box for me to make sure the TV was undamaged.

Looks wise the Panasonic isn't much. It's framed in a piano black trim and is about 3 inches deep. The base is also done in piano black with a chrome band around the edge. At the bottom of the TV's frame is a bronze colored streak. Overall it's a classy look, but also nothing special. On the lower edge of the TV are the 3-D glasses' transmitters and the remote sensor. On the left side of the TV are various buttons (channel, volume, menu, input, and power) along with a few inputs (HDMI, composite video, and an SD card slot) and two USB ports (for hooking up the wireless dongle amongst other things). On the back of the set (on the set's left side viewed from the front) are two HDMI, two components, one composite, one RF/coaxial, and a PC input. There is also an optical audio out. The TV's build quality is very good, the materials are nice, and it feels sturdy overall. Lastly, the included remote is long and narrow, but well laid out with large buttons that light up.

Using this
Panasonic TC-P50GT25 50-Inch 1080p Full HD TV is straightforward and easy. It guides you through the set-up, scans for channels, sets up the network, and sets the clock. The menu system is logically laid out and easy to use. The picture controls are many and allow you to fine tune precisely, although the pro-setting are only available in Custom picture mode. Besides Custom mode there is Vivid, Standard, THX, and Game modes. Each mode can be tweaked individually and set up differently for each input. Some of the features included with the Panasonic are 5 individual timers to turn the TV on and off and a sleep timer. There is also VieraLink that, if the TV is connected to the Internet, allows you to view YouTube or Netflix among other services (I have not used this feature since I stream that content through my Blu-ray player). You can insert an SD card or a USB jump drive into the set and view photos, videos, or listen to MP3 files as well. This feature worked well when I inserted an SD card from my Canon camera and the photos looked very nice on the screen. Another nice feature is being able to set channels as your favorites so you can jump to them more quickly, or have the channel only scan favorites when you go up and down channels. Features to reduce burn-in include a pixel orbiter (which very slightly shifts the picture to prevent burn-in) and a scrolling bar pattern that wipes a white bar over a black screen for 15 minutes. While burn-in is much less of an issues with plasma sets then it used to be, if you like to watch non-high definition TV with the bars on the side, or play video games and pause them for a long time, plasma may not be the best bet for you. Finally, there are light sensors on the front of the TV to allow the set to adjust its brightness based on ambient light conditions.

Picture quality on the Panasonic is where this
Panasonic TC-P50GT25 50-Inch 1080p Full HD TV shows it mettle. I have the set hooked up in the following manner. My LG Blu-ray player and Nintendo Wii are hooked up to my Onkyo receiver, which is in turn hooked into the Panasonic via HDMI. The Blu-ray is hooked into the receiver using HDMI and the Wii using composite video. For cable, I use the RF/coaxial input. I am not a videophile and tweaked the picture menu myself where I settled on the Vivid setting with some adjustments to make it less vivid. I find the picture looks best when I leave the automatic adjustment for ambient light on. I also have the TV set-up to show 95% of the image where the edges are cropped off so I don't view any image breakdown at the picture's edge. Watching any high definition content, be it Blu-ray, cable TV, or streaming Netflix, the picture looks its best with great detail and clarity (this is especially true when watching Blu-ray discs). Watching standard definition content doesn't look bad either, obviously it doesn't look great stretched out to 50", but the details hold up well and it's more than acceptable. Regardless of the source, the colors are accurate, the dynamic range is great with deep and detailed shadows, and there is no motion blur even when playing video games or watching animated content. My previous television was a 32" 720p LCD and compared to the LCD the plasma Panasonic looks more "fluid" and "film-like". The details don't jump out at you like they do on a high end LCD set (sometimes obnoxiously), but the picture is clear and sharp none the less. The screen has an anti-reflective coating that seems to work well. I have the set in a room with two big windows on the west side and I adjust the blinds when necessary to keep the sun's reflections off the screen. In the end, a plasma is no worse in this regard than a traditional tube television. Overall, I am very pleased with the picture and am a plasma convert.

The TV's built-in speakers are fine for casual viewing, but if you want a true big-screen experience you're going to want to hook this set up to at least a 2.1 system, if not a full blown 7.2 system. Mine is hooked up to a 5.1 system.

Speaking of sounds, I don't notice any humming from the set. Occasionally, if I have muted the sound and a bright white scene comes on I hear a slight hum, but it's barely noticeable and goes away as soon as the scene changes. Also, the set does not give off much heat as far as I can tell.

There are only a few negatives I have about the set and they are as follows: 1) The piano black trim on the set shows reflections much worse than the screen itself. 2) The set only has 3 HDMI inputs, most have 4. 3) The remote sensor is very low on the set and I have my center speaker in front of the TV so I have to angle the remote upward in order for the signal to reach the TV.

All in all... a great plasma set, with tons of inputs, features, and adjustability, but an especially great picture quality.

P.S.: Sorry for the long review. There is a lot to cover. If you'd like to know anything else leave a comment and I'll do my best to answer.

Panasonic TC-P50GT25 50-Inch 1080p Full HD 3D/2D THX Certified Plasma Television Review

Let me begin by saying that I give all the credit in the world to Amazon who offered this Panasonic TC-P50GT25 50-Inch 1080p Full HD 3D/2D THX Certified Plasma Television at an incredible introductory price. They absolutely put the consumer first on this product.

To the TV. I'd have to say that I'm enormously happy with Panasonic TC-P50GT25 50-Inch 1080p Full HD TV. The 2D picture is excellent (though I haven't had a chance to give the 3D a spin). The only thing that I've found to be disappointing is the performance of the 1080p24 input. At 48hz the picture really is unwatchable due to the flicker (per other reviews). If there's anything that Panasonic can do to fix some of the flicker in a future firmware update, they should do so immediately.

That being said, it is very, very difficult to find fault in the 60hz mode. Movies look fantastic...and while I'm a fairly discerning viewer, I haven't seen any of the issues that other sites have written about showing movies in a non multiple of 24hz (if one even understands the technology).

Again, for the price paid, this is an incredible TV that anyone should be happy with.

FAVI 19-inch LED 1080p HDTV / 720p (F19BL-TV) Customer Review

Customer Review # 1
Purchased this FAVI 19-inch LED 1080p HDTV for my RV and couldn't be any happier. Very slim and fits perfectly. I was looking for a LED tv that had a great picture quality and used no more than 40 watts of power and also comes with the 12 volt power adapter! Love the fact that it has 2 HDMI ports and also allows me to hookup to a computer as well. One of the main concerns ive been warned about with smaller LED tv's are the fact that the speakers are really poor. That WASN'T the case here. Sound was excellent and I think they finally solved that problem.

Customer Review # 2
I initially purchased this
FAVI 19-inch LED 1080p HDTV primarily for use as an extended monitor for my laptop. So far I've had it for a couple months and I'm extremely happy with the picture quality and resolution. The VGA connection definitely provides clear and crisp picture when connected to my HD laptop. I am also impressed with the multiple inputs this TV comes with, definitely a plus for a 19 inch flat screen. The design is ultra slim and sleek and it looks great on my desk.

Customer Review # 3
So my boss asked me to get him a new monitor for his computer since his old one was a bit outdated. I received
FAVI 19-inch LED 1080p HDTV within days and put the monitor that was still in the box on his desk. Once he arrived I get called into his office and he yells "if I wanted a tv I would have told you to buy me a tv!" It took me a few seconds to explain that it wasn't just a tv and that it was a computer monitor as well! Needless to say he apologized and was very impressed with the "monitor".

Toshiba 40FT1U 40-Inch 1080p 60 Hz LCD HDTV, Black Gloss

Toshiba 40FT1U 40-Inch 1080p 60 Hz LCD HDTV, Black GlossI was able to get this Toshiba 40FT1U 40-Inch 1080p 60 Hz LCD HDTV at Best Buy as an "early Black Friday" offer for $400. At that price, this is a fantastic deal. I was also able to stand and compare the video image side by side from very close up (2 ft) with the Sony KDL40EX500 and EX400, the Toshiba 40E200U, and a Panasonic TCL37D2 -- frankly, it was like looking at virtual copies except the Soney EX500 had a SLIGHTLY better image (less edge flicker on football players in motion). Without brand names, you couldn't tell one from the other whether they were turned on or off (they all had a similar matte screen finish). Keep in mind that these TVs were all set in the store to a very hot, bright picture. On the audio side, they all sounded decent with none standing out as "better" (in the showroom at least). With that comparison, it was easy for me to choose to save more than $100 and buy the Toshiba 40FT1U. (The little information I could actually find about the 40FT1U says that it is basically the same as the Toshiba 40FT1U 40-Inch 1080p 60 Hz LCD HDTV but with only 3 HDMI connectors instead of 4.)

Getting it home, assembled (very simple and well-engineered 4 bolt base assembly) and connected (using HDMI), I wasn't disappointed at all by the product when in the quiet and soft natural (window) lighting of my bedroom. The tv has 5 "Pic Modes" with the mysterious names (probably the typical Toshiba names) of Sport, Standard, Movie, PC and Preference (I think this one is customizable). These are really brightness/contrast alternatives with Sport too bright for me -- Movie turned out to be my preferred mode and seems to provide real deep black levels. The audio is clear (w/o much low end), offers plenty of volume and has a really good surround synthesizer.

The menus are pretty clear and easy to move through, but offer far more alternatives than are covered in the manual (manual, HAH!). Some are not immediately obvious to me and I'll have to explore the Toshiba site just to see what they mean. All in all with only a couple hours experience, I'm very happy with this HDTV and would recommend it even at it's normal price. I'll try to add more after I've had it a while.

VIZIO M190VA-W 19-Inch LED LCD HDTV with Razor LED Backlighting, White Review

#1 - Saw this VIZIO M190VA-W 19-Inch LED LCD HDTV on sale, so I purchased VIZIO M190VA-W 19-Inch LED LCD HDTV to go into my two sons room. Overall, great packaging, great shipment, super fast!

However, only flaw I can tell is that my kids have bunk beds, and the tv has to be tilted a good bit for the bottom bunk to see it. Does not have a good viewing angle, anything over 25% is grainy and shadowed. If it is for one person or a family room, where everyone sits in the same spot, at the same level, then this would make a great tv. Super sharp, excellent brightness. Nice remote, and Plenty of connections. 3 hdmi ports!
The only reason I gave it a 4 star instead of a 5 is b/c of the viewing issue.

#2 - I own the 26" version of this TV (I also own a 47" Vizio) and I needed a small TV to use for a convention display table. The reason I purchased this one is that it is unique in that it has forward facing speakers. Most small TV's have downward facing speakers and in a large room they are much harder to hear. This TV is perfect, small, loud volume and has a great picture. I also like how Vizio packs their small TV's because they are easy to re-pack and the box can be used many times. The base plate also comes off easy.

VIZIO XVT473SV 47-inch LED 1080p HDTV Review
With our old Westinghouse going out we knew it was time for a new TV. Thank god I thought of Vizio. After a lot of research I found out that this TV gives you some of the best blacks for an affordable price. Before you pull the trigger on the 2010 Samsung's know that this TV has the better picture quality. Now the 2010 Samsung's are great but this is a little better. As far as features its packed. From 240 HZ, 1080, built in dual band wifi (n,g,?,?), 5 HDMI 1.4 ports, insane contrast this is as good as it gets. As far as cons theres not that much. Its awesome how you set up devices the remote works for my HD satalite box, 360 and blu-ray HTIB. The only downside is that theres not a lot of buttons on the remote and when using the inferred it lags a little bit. Another con is that the 240hz isn't as good as others. If you want the best 240hz then I would recommend the Samsungs. Last of all, the aesthetics aren't as nice as other LED's. While IMO it looks great the stand is really round and is not as thin as others.

Overall I couldn't be happier with this TV. After a little tuning (ok a lot) its the best picture I've ever seen.VIZIO XVT473SV 47-inch LED 1080p HDTV is really the best TV in the price range.

Sony KDL55NX810 55-inch LED 1080p HDTV Customer Review

Just received this new Sony KDL55NX810 55-inch LED 1080p HDTV and it is everything Sony claims it to be.

I also am very happy with the 3D effects on Sony KDL55NX810 55-inch LED 1080p HDTV.

Review Toshiba 55UX600U 55-Inch 1080p 120 Hz LED HDTV From Customer

Television has a great image and a lot of good features. The image is rather to refine and calibrate the parameters of the user (expert mode). It seems Vudu Apps, etc. Quick and helpful. A slim and light, pleasant attractions.

Couple of my concerns before an audience of 120 Hz and the glossy screen (glare). I watched the football, baseball, basketball and not notice any blurring at all. The screen has some reflection, but once the version that you can not see at all. The image is very bright and vibrant. Incredible blacks lighting device. It could compete with a photo and the price or beat any plasma or Samsung.
More energy efficient. Great TV.

And This is another review ... I was a little Leary to buy because other reviews online, criticism. However, none of them hold water. HDTV is an amazing and additional functionality with Internet access would be perfect (Pandora radio, even YouTube). The excellent picture from any angle, allowing multiple input connections from any source. One thing not mentioned is that the death was triggered after four hours if you have any input, which is the default. bought it for my elderly mother, and she loves it. Oh, and it is only a few inches thick, and therefore protruding from the wall even smaller than the picture frame!
